We provide low income children the opportunity to ski.

Through skiing we work to break down the racial and economic barriers that prevent children from low income families from reaching their full potential so that they may become contributing members of society.

It’s all about the kids

We empower children from low income families by providing opportunities to participate in the outdoor activities that define the mountain town of Jackson Hole. By sharing skiing, soccer and climbing with children who would otherwise lack access to these activities, we strive to create a stronger, healthier, and more diverse mountain community.

Doug Coombs Foundation shared Tracking the Wild Coomba's photo. ... See MoreSee Less

It’s Friday…SMILE! Almost everybody I interviewed when writing ‘Tracking the Wild Coomba’ talked about Coombs’s smile. How his big toothy grin would light up a room and rarely leave his face. He loved life. Loved having fun. He loved to smile. His unwavering positivity rubbed off on people and they themselves couldn't help but smile just being in his presence. Here photographer Ace Kvale captured that classic Coombs grin in full effect. #TRACKINGTHEWILDCOOMBA #COOMBSFACTORFRIDAY #ASMILEGOESALONGWAY

Kids ski racing in the Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club

  • We are giving these kids a tool — how to express themselves and overcome obstacles. We help them feel like they belong here.

    Giving these kids a tool
  • The foundation is more than skiing. It helps children become part of the community and understand the importance of giving back.

    More than skiing
  • My kids started coming home and asking why I wasn’t skiing with them. So I tried and now they’ve changed my view of winter. I love the snow!

  • Now that I ski, I understand why people here love it so much. I feel like a part of the Jackson community.
